30 October 2023:

In Class:  The Bohr model, electron configuration, excited and ground state, and spectra.  (Chapter 2:6 to 2:9)

Expectations:  Students will be able to write electron configurations for ground state atoms, excited state atoms, and ions.

Understanding atomic Particles.  (Supplementary)

Expectations:  Students will be able to find the most common isotope from an atomic mass.

Due:  The Atomic Structure Worksheet.

Homework:  Finish the Electron Configuration Worksheet and the Electron Configuration Answer Key.

31 October 2023:

In Class:  Atomic mass from nuclide mass and natural abundance or weighted averages.  (Chapter 2:4 to 2:5)

Expectations:  Students will be able to calculate weighted atomic masses.

Due:  The Electron Configuration Worksheet.

Homework:  Finish the Inside Atoms Worksheet and Inside Atoms Answer Key.

1 November 2023:

No Class:  Chemistry does not meet on Wednesday.

2 November 2023:

Lab 8:
Complete data collection and discuss principles and concepts in the Flame Test Lab.

Expectations:  Students will be able to identify an unknown sample based on standards in a flame test.

Due:  The Inside Atoms Worksheet.

Homework:  Finish the Flame Test Lab report.

3 November 2023:

In Class:  Begin Lewis Electron Dot (LED) structures.  (Chapter 2:10 to 2:11)

Expectations:  Students will be able to draw LED structures of atoms.

Due:  The Flame Test Lab.

Homework:  Finish the Lewis Electron Dot Structures Worksheet.  Here is the
